I finished the quilted petticoat, decorated a hat, and added the lace trim to the collar and cuffs on the bodice. I also added tapes inside the skirt so that I can bustle up the train. I didn't wind up trying everything on, so hopefully it will all work! I'm wearing it tomorrow for a Sherlock Holmes event, so I'll find out then. I have to remember ( Read more... )

I braved the cold sewing room tonight, and managed to sew most of my quilted petticoat. It just needs a hem and waistband at this point, so I should have it done in under an hour tomorrow. Which is good, since I also still need to make a hat. And possibly add more trim to the dickey, and you know, probably try everything on! Luckily, I get off at 3 ( Read more... )

I don't feel like I was all that productive this year, probably since the early candy bustle wound up taking up soooo much of my time, but I did make a fair bit leading up to CosCol.

I finished the quilted petticoat! Hopefully I'll have the last tabs on the stays done by Sunday. I just wasn't feeling well enough for most of today to be able to do any hand sewing. I did manage to make it out of the house to spend the night shopping, though. Happy Christmas to meeee!!! :)

So for some reason, I just really didn't want to work on the floral polonaise's petticoat today. So instead, I procrastinated - first, by dyeing 5 of my ostrich feathers (the ones I bought in that ebay lot of 55 over a month ago) with koolaid. They turned out the perfect shade, though they're unfortunately not quite as fluffy anymore. Does anyone ( Read more... )
